POSITION SUMMARY

Servicing all aspects of assigned commercial lines accounts. Grow and develop technical skills and insurance knowledge to the highest level possible.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide prompt, accurate and courteous service to customers, Sales and Service Agents, and
    company personnel.
  2. Check all policies for discrepancies between management system and policy declarations and
    invoice policy if agency billed.
  3. Attach scanned policy to management system and prepare standard email with policy
    attached, list of all certificates or evidences of insurance when needed.
  4. Assist in rating new and renewal business as needed.
  5. Issue Certificates and Evidences of insurance when needed.
  6. Prepare endorsement requests and update policy screens.
  7. Prepare and process cancellations when required.
  8. Invoice audits and follow-up when payment is not made and notify Sales and Service Agents of
    any unpaid audits.
  9. Process claim information when directly reported to carriers.
  10. Process incoming mail per agency procedures.
  11. Retrieve all commercial documents from company websites.
  12. Cover reception desk as needed.
  13. Keep Sales and Service Agents fully informed of all important activities on accounts.
  14. Maintain suspense items in a timely manner.
  15. Obtain expiration dates, where possible, on lines of business or polices not written by
    the agency to follow-up on and make coverage offers.
  16. Understand and successfully use industry automation.
  17. Assume other job responsibilities as assigned by Sales and Service Agents.
  18. Keep current on rates, forms and coverage changes through circulars, bulletins, trade
    publications, seminars and schools offered.
  19. Participate in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development.
  20. Maintain all client activity in the agency automation system.

QUALIFICATION

General Knowledge

Education and Certification Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Requirement

• Minimum of two (2) years insurance experience or another qualifying professional
environment.
• Knowledge of standard professional computer applications. Ex. Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.

Cognitive Requirements

The position holder has the responsibility to acquire and maintain the required knowledge of State and Federal Insurance regulations and policies and those regulations and policies inherent to position requirements. This is accomplished through the completion of online compliance training courses as assigned by the agency and within the time frame designated.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

• Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.
• Perceive the normal range of sounds with no less than a 40-decibel loss at 500 Hz and 2,000 Hz with or without correction.
• Visually identify and distinguish between various documents and currency with normal range of sight having no less than 20/40 to 20/50 visions with or without corrections.
• Reach and retrieve objects outside of immediate range.
• Stand or support one and stay in an upright position.
• Raise substantial objects from lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
• Pinch or pick and maneuver small objects by whatever means but requires sedentary work such as exerting up to 10 pounds of force 5% of the time and a negligible amount of force approximately 90% of the time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position holder is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. This position is in an air-conditioned office setting.
