ST. PETERSBURG, FL — May 23, 2026 – Comegys Insurance Agency is proud to announce the presentation of two $5,000 scholarships to outstanding students at St. Petersburg Catholic High School. The awards were presented on May 23, 2026, by members of the Berset family, owners of Comegys Insurance Agency.

Now in its second year, the Berset Family Scholarship Program was established to recognize students whose character and values reflect what the Berset family holds dear. This year, the program expanded to include a second scholarship category.

The $5,000 Berset Family Christian Servant Leadership Scholarship was presented by Derek Berset, Vice President of Comegys Insurance Agency and a proud alumnus of St. Petersburg Catholic High School. The scholarship honors students who lead through service, following the example set by Christ.

This year’s recipient, Amelia Trainor, embodies that spirit. Following major surgery on both knees and femurs, she channeled her recovery into service, shadowing physical therapists at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and becoming an encouraging presence for children facing similar challenges. She also volunteers at The Springs Nursing Home and leads youth group nights at St. Jude’s.

As Amelia says, “Leadership isn’t about fixing everything. It means being patient and meeting people where they’re at.”
Amerlia says she plans to carry these values into a career in medicine.

This year, Mark Berset, CEO of Comegys Insurance Agency, announced the inaugural Berset Family Entrepreneurial Scholarship, also $5,000, created to celebrate students with vision, drive, and the ambition to build something of their own.

The first recipient, Ayden Barrett, grew up working alongside his father at Ice Cold Air, a St. Petersburg auto repair shop. He has since co-founded Barrett Motorsports, powered by Ice Cold Air, where he serves as Chief Operating Officer and driver. This fall, he will attend Florida Gulf Coast University to pursue a business degree, with the goal of returning to St. Pete to grow Ice Cold Air into one of Florida’s most trusted auto repair names.
