DOVER, FL — November 15, 2025 — Comegys Insurance Agency, in partnership with Heritage Insurance, proudly announces Ms. Leslie Winstead, K–5 Physical Education Teacher at Nelson Elementary School, as the final recipient of the 2025 Teacher Giveaway Program. Ms. Winstead received a $500 award in recognition of her inspiring dedication, compassion, and creativity, which profoundly impact her students each day.
The Teacher Giveaway Program distributed $5,000 throughout November during Comegys’ Week of Giving, honoring exceptional educators and school staff across the community. From hundreds of meaningful nominations, a volunteer panel of senior residents from a local nursing home reviewed submissions and selected the honorees—building connections across generations while celebrating those who elevate student learning and well-being.
Ms. Winstead was nominated by Samantha Elliott, who shared: “As an elementary physical education teacher, Leslie transforms the gym into a place of excitement, learning, and growth. Her engaging lessons go above and beyond to spark confidence, encourage teamwork, and help students discover a lifelong love for movement.”
